Cartoon time& Fun time


Teaching aims and learning objectives

1. Ss can listen, understand, read and act Cartoon time.

2. Ss can read the words: a shirt, a skirt, a T-shirt, a jacket, a cap, new, yellow, red.

3. Ss can use Look at to talk about clothes and use Its nice./How nice!/Its great./Great! to give praise.

Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty  

Ss can understand and read Cartoon time, and act it out with emotion and action.

Teaching procedures  

Step1 Warm up

  1. Greeting and free talk

T: Good morning, class.

S: Good morning, Miss Chen.

T: Today I am very happy, because I have nice clothes. Look at my new skirt. What do you think? Can you give me some praise?

S: Its nice./How nice!/Its great./Great![LQ1]

2.Revision

1.T: Look at this girl. She is happy too. Who is she?

S: She’s Yang Ling.

T: Yes, This is Yang Ling. She has many beautiful clothes. She is showing clothes. Let’s be Yang Ling and mum, ok? (Review Story time)

Ss read together.(齐读)

TGood. What clothes does Yang Ling try? How does Yang Ling say? How to give praise?

Ss think and say: How nice/great!/ It’s nice/great./ Great!

T: Great. I want you to know more. How cool! Its beautiful.[LQ2]

Step 2 Presentation

1.Game time- Magic eyes

T: lets play a game. When you see the word or pictures about clothes, please say it loudly. When you see Yang Ling, please clap your hands twice.[LQ3]

2.Let’s chant

1) Let’s have a chant! (1.Chant together. 2.chant in groups.)

Cap, cap, look at my cap.

Nice, nice!  Oh, how nice!

Skirt, skirt, look at my skirt.

Great, great!  Oh, it’s great!

2) Can you choose your favourate clothes to make a new chant? Please talk with your partners.

3)show time[LQ4]

3. Cartoon time

1)T: Our animal friends have nice clothes too. Look! They are coming. Who are they?

S: They are Bobby’s mother and Bobby’s father.

T: look at mothers face. She is very happy. Why?

Ss guess and say.

T: She went shopping and got new clothes.

Ss learn new word new.[LQ5]

2)T: Then Mummy went home and showed some clothes to Daddy. What clothes is Mummy showing?

A) A T-shirt.    B) A jacket.   C) A cap.   D) A skirt.

Ss watch the cartoon and answer.

3)THow does Mum show and how does Dad praise?

Ss guess and say.[LQ6]

4TNow is mummy happy? No, she is angry. Why? What color is the T-shirt?

Is it red?

Ss read and answer: No, its yellow.

5)T: Is Mummy happy at first? Is Mummy angry at last? What do you learn from the story?

S: Because when Mummy shows the nice clothes, Daddy doesn’t look at the clothes.

A tips for youwhen others are expressing ,we should listen carefully.

6Read after the tape.

7Read together.

8)T: If you are Bobby, how to make mother happy?

S: Praise her clothes.[LQ7]

9Lets act and show. T: Here are four ways for you to choose.

  1.read in roles; 2. Act in roles; 3. Act without book; 4. Give an ending to the story[LQ8]

Step 3 Consolidation

1. Fun time

T: Bobby’s mother buy new clothesbecause Bobby, Mummy, Daddy and Sam will go to a fashion show. Do you want to go to the party? First, we have to make nice clothes for ourselves!

2. Lets design[LQ9]

T: Here are the rules:

1).四人小组合作,选择自己喜爱的服装,大胆装饰。

2).衣服做好之后,小组内轮流用英语对于服装进行展示和赞美。

  1. Show time

T: Good job! Now who can come to show us?

S: Great!/ How nice!...

T: Now lets begin our fashion show. [LQ10]

Homework  家庭作业

  1. Listen and read Cartoon time five times.

 听录音并跟读Cartoon time,至少五遍哦。

  1. Show your clothes to your parents.

 回家向爸爸妈妈介绍你自己制作的衣服吧。    

磨课反思

本课时是该单元的第课时,主要任务是进一步巩固和运用本单元的功能句型。整节课的优点是思路清晰,口令简洁明了,教具准备用心。但仍存在以下不足和改进建议

  1. 时间把握不准,侧重点不明确。前面的导入和复习过程太长,以至于后面的教学重点和教学目标没有落实到位。可以删减前面不必要的story time的复习部分。

  2. Free talk环节互动性不强。老师更多的是在这一环节展示自己的衣服,让学生赞美。但基于这是本单元第二课时,可以以学生为主体,让学生展示,学生赞美服装,贴近学生实际,培养学生用英语做事的能力。

  3. 多媒体运用可以更丰富,符合学生需要和年龄特征。在游戏导入环节和chant环节,插入欢快的背景音乐,激发学生参与的兴趣。Cartoon time的细节处理方面,不要局限于老师的带读,插入原声的音频,给与学生更多地道的英语听力的接触机会

  4. 板书的分块和重点不够明显。两块黑板,一块突显cartoon time的学习呈现,一块可以在学生make and sayshow time环节,张贴学生设计的作品,并请学生上台展示说一说。在讲解单词new的同时,可以板书,加深学生的记忆和运用。

  5. 学生朗读表演时存在尾音太重太长的发音问题。在平时的课堂教学过程中,老师要有意识地引导和纠正学生的发音问题。

  6. 最好在教学设计中设计一条明确的主线,不至于环节与环节之间毫无联系,显得比较散乱。

  7. Cartoon timeStory time的教学还是有区别的,可以更深入地思考:两者的区别和侧重点在哪里?是不是cartoon time的教学不用过分在于文本细节的处理?

磨课之后,听取了其他老师的建议,对课件和教学环节加以修改和调整,整节课上得更加流畅,时间把控准确了,教学目标和教学任务也能基本落实到位了。


[LQ1]在老师介绍了自己的新衣服后,可以让学生运用句型Look at my 展示自己的衣服。

[LQ2]复习太冗长,建议删去,后面的呈现操练时间不够。

[LQ3]加入欢快的背景音乐,以及本单元的短语句子,不仅仅是单词。

[LQ4]换一首节奏感比较强烈,稍快的Chant音乐。

[LQ5]板书new

[LQ6]插入原音频,学生模仿跟读。

[LQ7]建议删去,预留时间给fun time

[LQ8]删去第四个选择根据学生的掌握情况只能做到第三个选项

[LQ9]改为Big designer

[LQ10]在黑板上留出一块张贴学生的作品
