Teaching procedures 

Step 1 Greeting & Warm up

1. Greeting

T: Hello, boys and girls.

S: Hello, …

T: Nice to meet you.

S: Nice to meet you, too.

2. Sing a song

T: Do you like listening to music?

S: Yes.

T: Let’s listen to the music. Guess! What holiday is it? (播放音乐)

S: New Year’s Day!

T: Yes, it’s New Year’s Day. It’s on January the first. What can we say on New Year’s Day?

S: Happy New Year!

Step 2 Presentation

1. Learn the new words

T: New Year’s Day is coming soon. I have some presents in my bag. And this is for my friend. Let me open it. Look, what’s this? (板书句子)

S: It’s a doll.

T: Yes, It’s a doll. Do you like the doll? What colour is it?(板书单词)

  Who’d like to open it and ask “What’s this?”. (The same way to teach “ball”)

Look at the board. There are some presents too. What’s that? (板书句子)

S: It’s … (“a ball” “a doll” “a robot”)

2. Let’s chant

T: These are nice presents. We can chant like this:

That, that, what’s that?

Ball, ball, it’s a ball.

This, this, what’s this?

Doll, doll, it’s a doll.

Step 3 Story time

1. Listen and answer.

T: Today is New Year’s Day. Mike and Helen are at home. Listen! (播放门铃声) Who’s coming?

T: Yes, Uncle John brings some presents. (领读人名)

  What will they say when they meet?

S: Happy New Year!

T: What presents are they? Please listen carefully. (播放课文录音)

S: A doll, a ball and a robot.

T: Do you like these presents?

S: Yes.

T: Are the presents for you?

S: No, they aren’t.

T: Who are the presents for?

S: They’re for Helen, Mike and Tim.

T: You’re right.

2. Watch and match.

T: What’s for Helen? What’s for Mike? What’s for Tim? Please watch the cartoon. (播放动画)

T: Can you tell me: Who are they for?

S1: This doll is for Helen. S2: This ball is for Mike. S3: This robot is for Tim.

3. Read and talk

T: Good. Now open your books. Please read their dialogue and find: How to give a present? How to accept the present?

S: This is for …

  It’s for … (领读、板书句型)

  Thank you.

  How nice!

T: T: If you are Uncle John, what will you say to Mike/Helen/Tim? Now I’m Uncle John.

T: This is for you.

S: Thank you.  

4. Read the story

T: When western people accept the present, they will open it and show their appropriation, but we are different. Anyway, to accept the presents is very happy, right?

S: Yes!

T: Let’s read happily, OK? First, let’s listen and follow. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.

S: (学生逐句跟读对话)

T: OK. Now let’s read the story together.

S: (学生齐读,教师根据语音语调再给予细致指导)

5. Act the dialogue

  T: You did a good job. Let’s act the dialogue in groups of 3.

Step 4 Talking time

T: Now Tim comes back and get the presents from Uncle John. What will they say? Tim回来了,他们会说什么呢?4人一组,发挥想象,创编对话吧!

T: Please act in groups. Here are some useful expressions for you.

Homework  家庭作业

1.Listen and read the story.听录音跟读课文。

课后反思

本节课在上课的过程中是思路基本清晰,环环相扣的。从热身歌曲导入新知,接下来采用礼物袋激发学生学习新词的兴趣,并渗透句型What’s this/that?It’s …,以chant形式巩固句型。在课文学习部分,让学生先通过听录音,知道有哪些礼物,然后再次播放课文动画,让学生了解这些礼物分别是给谁的,这是一个从整体到细节的过程。接着让学生精读课文,引导学生发现赠送和接受礼物需要用什么语言,并尝试运用语言。在此过程中适当进行文化渗透,让学生了解体会中西方在礼物收受上的文化差异。课文朗读的过程分两步:首先逐句跟读,模仿语音语调。注意督促学生及时标注重音和声调,帮助学生形成良好的朗读模仿习惯。然后通过表演来复习和巩固课文学习。课文学习后,引导学生思考“Tim回来了,他们会说什么呢?”,鼓励学生在新的情境中运用所学语言。

  但不足之处是:

1. 学生朗读训练不够到位,学生在分组朗读呈现环节中能够感受到学生读的不是很流畅。

2. This和that的区分教学不够明显,建议在课前把另一个礼物盒子放在远处,课上询问孩子what’s that,这样显得更加自然,单词的处理也水到渠成。

3. 新年的文化渗透没有落实,它跟中国的阴历新年需要区分开来,建议呈现一张日历的PPT,帮助学生更好地理解。

4. 既然是公开课,需要营造良好的英语氛围。建议在课前准备时,放一首英文歌,帮助舒缓学生的紧张情绪。而且,第一张PPT最好是呈现老师的class rules,让学生对新老师的课堂要求有个明确的认识。

今后我需要改进的方向是在备课中加入自己的想法,更有创造力和设计感。多研读教材,用整合三到六年级的眼光去备课上课,也是我需要努力做的事。
